Klaus nodded and groaned at the pat on his back. "Yes, captain," he said.

He loved the crow's nest; it was quiet and peaceful and sure he had to be sober for it, but still. The quiet won.

He slumped to his hammock and fell to sleep easily.

The next morning he was there, sober(ish) and a little late, to meet his captain again.
